We have a friendly team of qualified trampoline coaches from coach level 1 to senoir club coach level 4. We also have qualified DMT (double mini tramp) club coaches and GMPD coaches who are trained in gymnastics and movement for people with disabilities.
All our coaches are fully CRB checked through British Gymnastics.
Our welfare officer is Ant Wakenshaw, any issues or concerns that you may have can be discussed confidentially.
We own several competition trampolines, a double mini tramp (DMT) and run, and associated safety mats. We also have an overhead training rig with safety and twisting belts to assist bouncers learning new moves.
Trampolining for recreation, sport or competition is a fun, healthy pass time suitable for all ages. It became an Olympic Sport in 2000 and is growing in popularity.
Trampolining can help to develop: co ordination; muscle tone and strength; balance; patience; stamina; spatial awareness; social skills and a sense of achievement.
Trampolining in a club environment lets you develop skills at your own pace in a safe environment with proper equipment and trained instructors
The Severn Trampolining Club was founded in September 2006 by Julia Jones, Ant Wakenshaw and Tabitha Tallerine who had all been trampolining and coaching in the area for many years.
In August 2007 the club was successful in achieving an 'Awards for All' bid to buy new equipment and to fund training for coaches. In 2008 we introduced half term academy days and in 2009 we held our first STC club competition and ran a summer school. In 2010 we acheived Gym Mark status and competed in regional DMT competition for the first time.
In 2011 and 2012 we invested in more equipment, and celebrated as some members qualified to national level competition.
In 2013 we are delighted to be merging with Shrewsbury Gymnastics Club, to form Severn Gymnastics & Trampolining and moving our base just down the road to the Sundorne Games Hall. The changes will allow us to offer more sessions and offer a broader range of activities as the gymnastics club equipment and facilities will be available to aid in the progression of our members
There are three types of competition that club members can enter. Regional (West Midlands), Severn club and Schools competitions.
